ABOUT

What is the Challengers Chess Tour?

Supporting gender equality and talented junior players, always.

Mentored by Judit Polgar.

The Tour will feature two “Challenges” one Final Four and Julius Baer Challenger Championship for a total of four events. The Challenges will each be two-day, round robin tournaments, the Final Four will bring the top 4 players (Julius Baer Challenge Champion, Julius Baer Challenge Runner-Up, Magnus Academy Challenge Champion, Magnus Academy Challenge Runner-Up) together and Julius Baer Challenger Championship will be a match between Challengers Champion 2021 vs Challengers Champion 2022. All tournaments will be played in blitz format with all games played on chess24.

The Tour will bring together 16 of the most exciting young male and female chess players. There will be eight female and eight male players. Stay tuned for the announcement of the lineup!

The Tour will be broadcast live on this website as well as chess24.com, and also available on chess24’s official YouTube, Twitch and Facebook channels. The first event will feature Judit Polgar & Pepe Cuenca as commentators.
